Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a wired monochrome routine use57 ppm one-sided Letter, automatic duplex and 600 included sheets?
Yes, in the documented ordinary-paper Ethernet setup. The 57 ppm Letter headline and 40 ppm Letter duplex figure are separate conditions.
Explore this need in the finder →Does wireless capability mean the standard package includes Wi-Fi?
No. The exact sheet identifies wireless IB36/IB51 as options; Wi-Fi Direct specifically requires the optional IB36.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the earlier series guide height be used to pass a 13-inch body-height limit?
No. This assessment uses the later exact American sheet13.5-inch installation-reference height and preserves the earlier guide discrepancy for an actual-unit check.
Explore this need in the finder →A fast monochrome engine with a wired standard setup
The Kyocera ECOSYS P3155dn is a dedicated monochrome printer for a workgroup that needs document output rather than scanning and copying at this device. Its useful standard combination is Ethernet sharing, automatic print duplex and a 600-sheet input arrangement. Wireless capability is expandable, but the radio hardware is not part of the standard configuration.
Choose the connection and actual paper routine before relying on the speed headline. A generic scanning-driver entry does not give this print-only model scanner hardware, and a listing showing additional drawers does not establish the included package.
57ppm is the one-sided Letter condition
The manufacturer declares 57 pages per minute for one-sided Letter, 46 for Legal and 55 for A4. Automatic duplex is separately declared at 40 pages per minute on Letter and 23 on Legal. Use the appropriate condition when comparing printers that will make the same documents.
The much higher Statement-landscape figure describes a different small-paper orientation, not a Letter rate. Scanner images per minute from another model would be another unrelated measurement. These are maker declarations; we have not measured complete application jobs, print quality or first-page behavior.
The standard paper supply and expansions are distinct
A 500-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray provide the standard 600-sheet arrangement under the stated ordinary-paper condition. Letter, Legal and A4 are named in the exact operation-guide paper tables, with automatic-duplex stock limits separately documented.
The 2,600-sheet maximum depends on optional feeders. The separate large-capacity feeder also has a base-unit requirement and its own paper-size and stock conditions. Verify the actual drawers and accessories supplied, rather than combining every maximum from the options list into a fictional base package. Envelope printing uses the instructed multipurpose route and should not be treated as ordinary duplex-paper handling.
Private Print has a concrete desktop procedure
The original guide explains selecting a four-digit access code in a compatible desktop driver and entering it at the printer before a private job is released. The documented RAM-disk Job Box must be configured appropriately. Other storage modes have separate optional-SSD or card requirements.
This can be useful around a shared output tray, but it does not mean every mobile submission offers the same private-job controls. Check the current driver and exact workflow. The five-line display and physical keys provide a different operating surface from a touchscreen MFP.
Optional wireless and mobile printing need their own setup
USB computer and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are standard. IB-36 and IB-51 wireless interfaces are listed as options, and Wi-Fi Direct specifically depends on the optional IB-36. An offered printer must actually have the required board before that capability can be relied upon.
AirPrint and Mopria are documented for compatible network printing. Unlike a USB-only desktop route, a correctly configured shared network can support those protocols without assuming a wireless radio in the printer itself. Historical cloud-print references do not establish that a retired service is still usable.
Use the later US dimensions, then inspect a tight installation
The later exact American sheet gives an installation-reference body of 15.4×16.4×13.5 inches and 34lb. The earlier series operation guide lists different body dimensions and a weight excluding toner. For this assessment, the later exact US sheet supplies the comparison dimensions; check the physical unit if the available space is tight, and leave additional operating clearance.
The reviewed American electrical edition is 120V/60Hz, with other-voltage versions separately specified. The sheet also separates V2 and V3 energy-consumption conditions instead of giving one number for every unit. Its 250,000-page maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. For a workload-led comparison, the FS-4100DN assessment has an explicit published recommended range; a faster engine alone should not be used to invent one here.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared one-sided Letter 57 ppm, Legal 46 ppm, A4 55 ppm; duplex Letter 40 ppm/Legal 23 ppm separately. Statement-landscape 84 ppm is a different small-paper orientation condition, not a Letter rate.
Paper handling
Standard 500-sheet cassette plus 100-sheet MP tray at documented 80 gsm capacity, 600 total. 2,600 maximum needs optional feeders; the 2,000-sheet large feeder has a separate PB325 base requirement and size/stock conditions. Envelope uses instructed MP path.
Scanning arrangement
Dedicated monochrome printer without scanning, copying or fax hardware. A WIA/scan software label in a shared list does not add a scanner.
Computer and mobile connections
USB computer and Gigabit Ethernet standard; IB36/IB51 wireless optional. AirPrint/Mopria supported in the documented network arrangement. Wi-Fi Direct specifically requires optional IB36.
Supplies and declared yields
Verify the exact regional toner identity and supplied/replacement declaration for the offered machine. No sibling toner yield, current price or remaining-life claim is imported.
Software and support
Compatible desktop-driver four-digit Private Print uses configured Job Box/RAM disk. Other storage modes require optional SSD/card as documented; native mobile printing does not automatically provide desktop private-job controls.
Electrical edition and setup
Later exact US sheet installation-reference dimensions 15.4 × 16.4 × 13.5 in/34 lb are used here; the earlier series guide lists 14.97 × 16.16 × 12.61 in and 33.8 lb without toner. Check the actual unit for a tight fit. 120 V/60 Hz and other-voltage editions separate. V2/V3 consumption conditions differ; 250,000 duty is not recommended monthly volume.
