MA2000wIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A Windows user scanning individual A4/Letter originals and printing modest monochrome documents over USB or a Wi-Fi network.

The main tradeoff

No automatic duplex or document feeder. Scanning is documented for Windows, WIA is USB-only, and Legal printing does not provide a Legal-size glass.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a Windows Wi-Fi routine print monochrome pages and scan Letter originals in color?

Yes, through the documented network TWAIN/Client Tool flatbed arrangement. It is not a promise of wireless WIA or Mac scanning.

Does the manual two-sided process satisfy automatic duplex?

No. The user must reload the first printed sides before the second pass.

Can the Legal printing path scan a full Legal original?

No. The documented fixed glass is A4/Letter; Legal output capability does not enlarge the scanner.

A small monochrome MFP for individual originals

The Kyocera MA2000w combines black-and-white printing, standalone copying and a color flatbed scanner in a compact desktop body. Its most natural fit is a Windows user who prints ordinary documents and occasionally scans an individual page, card or book opening. Standard Wi-Fi is useful when the computer cannot conveniently sit beside a USB cable.

The scanner does not make this a color printer, and the flatbed does not provide an automatic document feeder. Those two distinctions matter more than an all-in-one label if you expect colored output or a stack of originals to pass through unattended.

Windows scanning and Mac printing are different promises

The American specification explicitly describes Windows color scanning. Its compatible Client Tool can save a scan to a folder or PDF, or attach it to an email message. Network TWAIN and a USB computer route are documented; WIA is specifically identified as USB-only in the US connection description.

Accordingly, our Wi-Fi plan uses the documented Windows Client Tool/network TWAIN arrangement rather than borrowing WIA from the USB plan. The older Mac printing-driver range in the same sheet does not establish present-day Mac scanning. Check the exact computer OS and currently available driver before relying on either task.

Legal printing does not mean a Legal-size scanner

The original guide names Letter, Legal and A4 for printing. Its glass accepts A4/Letter originals, while the US sheet describes the American Letter scanning limit. A Legal page that fits the paper path therefore does not become a full Legal original on the flatbed.

Copying and scanning are individual-original routines. There is no feeder to turn a multipage stack into unattended scans, and no automatic two-sided scanning path. For a buyer who mostly digitizes occasional letters, the glass may be sufficient; for repeated batches, the missing feeder can be a substantial practical limitation.

Two-sided output needs you to reload the paper

The documented duplex process prints one set of pages, asks the user to reload them in the indicated orientation, and then prints the other sides. That is manual duplex, not automatic duplex. Selecting automatic two-sided printing as essential in our finder excludes this configuration.

The maker's one-sided rates are 21 pages per minute for Letter, 17 for Legal and 20 for A4. These are declared conditions rather than our measured job speeds. The output tray holds 50 sheets and the original guide says printing pauses after that quantity, so an uninterrupted large batch still needs attention.

150 sheets and a modest control panel keep the setup simple

The standard input holds 150 sheets at the documented ordinary-paper weight, and the US sheet lists no second paper source or higher expanded capacity. The two-digit LED panel provides a different working experience from a touchscreen that can browse complex scanning destinations. Computer-assisted scanning is central to the documented workflow.

The original guide gives a body of 14.57×12.60×9.45 inches and 13.67lb with toner. Leave additional space to lift the scanner lid, load paper and reach connections. The reviewed American electrical edition is 120V/60Hz; another regional voltage is not interchangeable simply because the model name looks the same.

Check supplies and avoid treating remote fax as built-in fax

The US sheet declares TK-1242 replacement toner up to 1,500 pages, a 700-page starter and a DK-1242 drum declaration up to 10,000 pages under its stated yield condition. None of those figures measures remaining supplies in a specific offer or establishes a present-day page cost without prices.

Client Tool includes a remote-fax workflow that selects a separate fax-capable device. It does not give the MA2000w its own telephone fax hardware. Similarly, KYOCERA Mobile Print support is not proof of native AirPrint or Mopria. If automatic duplex and a document feeder are essential, compare the larger ECOSYS M2540dw instead of stretching this compact model's role.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Maker-declared one-sided Letter 21 ppm, Legal 17 ppm and A4 20 ppm. Duplex requires manual reload. The 50-sheet output tray pauses printing when full.

Paper handling

150 sheets at the stated 80 gsm condition, with no additional input source in the US sheet. Legal printing does not extend the A4/Letter glass.

Scanning arrangement

Windows color flatbed scanning through the compatible Client Tool/TWAIN routine. USB also supports documented WIA; WIA is not assigned to the wireless plan. No automatic document feeder.

Computer and mobile connections

USB computer and Wi-Fi network are standard on MA2000w. No Ethernet or Wi-Fi Direct configuration is established here. KYOCERA Mobile Print support is different from native AirPrint or Mopria.

Supplies and declared yields

The US sheet declares TK-1242 toner at up to 1,500 pages, 700-page starter toner and DK-1242 drum at up to 10,000 under its stated yield condition. These are declarations, not remaining supplies or measured running cost.

Software and support

The US sheet explicitly scopes scanning to Windows. Verify current GX/KPSL drivers for the exact OS; a historical Mac printing range does not establish current Mac scanning. Remote fax in Client Tool uses another selected fax device, not a built-in telephone fax.

Electrical edition and setup

Original guide body is 14.57 × 12.60 × 9.45 inches and 13.67 lb with toner; the US sheet rounds these to 14.6 × 12.6 × 9.4 and 13.7 lb. Allow room for the glass lid and paper access. US 120 V/60 Hz, 5.6 A edition is separate from 220–240 V editions.
