PA2000wIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A personal workspace needing basic black-and-white printing, with scanning elsewhere and someone available to reload manual duplex jobs.

The main tradeoff

No scanner or automatic duplex. Small output capacity and host-based software requirements matter; native mobile protocols are not inferred from app support.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it provide a compact Wi-Fi monochrome printer with 150 included sheets?

Yes, with compatible software and the reviewed 120 V configuration. The body is about13.78 × 9.18 × 6.97 in; allow extra paper-access space.

Does manual duplex meet an automatic two-sided printing requirement?

No. The guide requires reloading the printed stack before the other sides are printed.

Does shared Client Tool scan wording make it a scanner and copier?

No. The exact model is print-only hardware. Software family wording does not add scanning or copying.

A small print-only model with a simple division of work

The Kyocera PA2000w is a compact monochrome printer with included Wi-Fi and a USB computer interface. It is most relevant when the job is straightforward black-and-white output and the user can accept a small paper supply and manual handling for two-sided pages. It does not replace a scanner, copier or fax machine.

That hardware distinction deserves attention because generic software descriptions mention scanning. The exact English specification identifies the product as print-only, and shared Client Tool or driver names do not add physical document-capture hardware. If originals need digitizing at the same desk, compare a multifunction model instead.

Manual duplex means returning to the paper stack

The original guide describes printing one set of page sides, removing the sheets and reloading them in the instructed orientation before the other sides are printed. This can be acceptable for occasional two-sided work when someone is nearby to handle the paper.

It does not meet a requirement for unattended automatic duplex printing. Check the software's instruction sheet and the allowed stock before starting, particularly when page order or binding orientation matters. A buyer who regularly produces long two-sided documents may prefer an automatic-duplex model even if both printers can eventually produce the same finished pages.

The input and output trays suit modest batches

The standard and maximum input supply is a single 150-sheet tray under the stated paper-weight condition. There is no larger optional-tray configuration established in the read specification. Letter, Legal and A4 are named among the supported paper sizes, but correct stock and loading instructions still apply.

The output capacity is smaller: the operation guide lists 50 sheets and says the printer pauses after that amount. Someone printing larger batches should consider both ends of the paper path, rather than looking only at the input capacity. The body's small size does not remove the need to reach and manage the printed stack.

Wireless hardware does not mean every mobile protocol

The exact w variant has wireless LAN as well as USB; the related non-wireless model is identified separately in the operation guide. Use the installation method and compatible software appropriate to the actual computer and network. An Ethernet connection is not established by this configuration.

The American brochure names the KYOCERA Mobile Print app for iOS and Android. That is different evidence from native AirPrint or Mopria support, and neither native protocol is assigned here from the app's name. Host-based desktop printing also depends on compatible software. Check the present driver carefully, especially for a current Mac: the brochure's listed Mac range ends at OS X 10.15.

Read the speed and supplies on their stated basis

The guide declares 21 images per minute on Letter, 17 on Legal and 20 on A4 for one-sided output. It notes that EcoPrint and the installation environment can reduce rate. These figures do not measure the complete time to finish an application job, and they do not include the human paper handling in manual duplex.

The English brochure distinguishes a 700-page starter toner declaration from the TK-1242 replacement figure of up to 1,500 pages under its stated assumptions. It also identifies the drum separately. Those declarations help identify the ownership routine, but they do not establish present cost or the remaining condition of a particular component.

Check the actual electrical model and available space

The guide lists a body about 13.78×9.18×6.97 inches and a weight of 9.92lb with toner. Leave additional space for paper access and the working output path. The reviewed 120V/60Hz version is separately specified from other-voltage versions, so inspect the actual electrical label.

The 8,000-page maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. The documented three LED indicators also should not be mistaken for an MFP-style touchscreen or copy-number display. Choose the PA2000w for a verified compact print-only routine; if automatic two-sided output matters, compare the P2040dw assessment and its different paper-handling arrangement.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided Letter 21, Legal 17, A4 20 images/min; EcoPrint and environment can reduce rate. Manual duplex requires reloading sheets, not an automatic-duplex rate.

Paper handling

Single 150-sheet standard/max input at 80 gsm, 50-sheet output with the guide stating a pause after 50 sheets. Ordinary Letter/Legal/A4 sizes are named; manual duplex follows correct reload orientation and allowed paper. Envelope C5 size alone is not used as proof of an instructed full envelope routine.

Scanning arrangement

Dedicated monochrome print-only hardware. Generic TWAIN/WIA or Client Tool scan wording in a shared software list does not supply a scanner, copying or fax hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Standard USB computer interface and infrastructure Wi-Fi on the exact w model. No Ethernet or Wi-Fi Direct arrangement is established here; native AirPrint/Mopria are not inferred from mobile-app support.

Supplies and declared yields

Original American English brochure distinguishes TK1242 black replacement up to 1,500 pages, 700-page starter and separate DK1242 drum declaration up to 10,000 pages under its stated assumptions. These are maker figures, not remaining-life measurements or current cost.

Software and support

Host-based printing needs supported software. KYOCERA Mobile Print app is named for iOS/Android, but that does not establish native AirPrint/Mopria. Check present drivers carefully; the brochure Mac compatibility range ends at OS X 10.15.

Electrical edition and setup

Original guide body 13.78 × 9.18 × 6.97 in and 9.92 lb with toner; 120 V/60 Hz/5.6 A edition separately specified from 220–240 V. Leave paper-access space; 8,000 maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. English brochure specifies three LED indicators, not an MFP touchscreen or two-digit copy panel.
