M6800FDWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A small-office routine needing automatic two-sided output, loose Legal feeder originals and fax in their separately supported arrangements.

The main tradeoff

The glass is smaller than the Legal feeder path. Automatic duplex scanning is not established, and computer/network/USB-disk scan destinations have different setup requirements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the documented USB routine combine Legal automatic print duplex, color Legal feeder scans and included fax?

Yes, in their separate supported routines, with a compatible telephone arrangement for fax. Legal originals use the ADF rather than the glass.

Does a 50-sheet ADF and automatic print duplex establish single-pass scanning?

No. The original acquisition mechanism is not established as single-pass by those separate specifications.

Can the USB-only computer arrangement also satisfy required AirPrint?

No. AirPrint belongs to the supported network printing plan, not the USB-only computer plan.

Automatic duplex output and a feeder address different bottlenecks

The Pantum M6800FDW combines monochrome printing, copying, color scanning and fax with a standard 50-sheet document feeder. Unlike the flatbed-only M6702DW, it can handle the documented stack of loose originals while retaining automatic two-sided printing.

That combination is useful when both printed sets and acquired originals recur in the same small-office routine. It still needs a careful distinction between the output duplex mechanism, the scanner's original path and the separate telephone connection used by fax.

Print both sides automatically without assuming duplex scanning

The original guide confirms automatic plain-paper duplex on Letter, Legal and A4, with the duplex-unit slide set for the appropriate paper group. The exact model declares one-sided Letter printing at 32 pages per minute and A4 at 30. A dedicated duplex-print rate is not established by those one-sided figures.

The scanner has a 50-sheet feeder, but a generic ADF label and a Manual Duplex Copy feature do not confirm a reversing or single-pass acquisition mechanism. If automatic scanning of both original sides is essential, this assessment does not make the machine pass by borrowing its automatic print-duplex capability.

Legal originals use the feeder rather than the glass

The exact specification gives a 216×297mm glass and a 216×356mm feeder path, with color scanning supported. Letter/A4 originals can use the glass; Legal originals have the documented longer feeder route. The paper sizes that can be printed are not a substitute for checking these scanner paths.

The 50-original capacity is separate from input paper. For books, cards or material that should not enter a feeder, the glass remains the relevant route. A Legal-size loose-sheet scan and a full Legal book opening are therefore different requirements in the finder.

Choose the actual destination, not just the word wireless

USB computer, Ethernet and Wi-Fi are included on the exact FDW model. The original panel Scan to PC procedure explicitly uses USB. A network computer destination is separately documented through configured FTP; its service and destination details must be prepared rather than assuming the USB shortcut becomes a network shortcut.

The exact page also identifies scan-to-USB-disk. That can be useful for taking files away without a computer, but it is not the same function as sending a scan over the USB computer cable. Same-network AirPrint and Mopria printing, Android NFC pairing and peer wireless printing are further distinct arrangements.

Count the cassette and manual path separately

The standard input is a 250-sheet cassette plus a one-sheet manual feed. Our total of 251 describes two different paths, not a 251-sheet cassette. An instructed envelope or other special medium uses the manual path with the appropriate paper settings; general paper support does not make every medium suitable for automatic duplex.

The recommended monthly range is 750–3,500 pages. The separate 60,000-page maximum duty is not the regular monthly recommendation. The exact US body reference is 415×365×350mm, with an 11.39kg weight excluding the cartridge. Allow additional feeder, lid, paper and service access.

Fax and supplies need their own configuration check

Fax is included on this exact model, with a separately compatible telephone arrangement. The original guide includes a telephone-compatibility procedure, which does not establish that every converted or IP phone service will work. Check the actual installation rather than treating Wi-Fi printing as wireless telephone fax.

The US page separates starter toner and drum declarations from the replacement TL-410 family and drum declarations. Those figures do not reveal remaining supplies or current page cost. If a feeder and fax are unnecessary, the M6702DW keeps automatic print duplex with a simpler original-scanning arrangement. If the required change is automatic two-sided acquisition, compare an explicitly documented duplex-scanning model rather than assuming every FDW printer supplies it.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided32 ppm Letter/30 ppm A4; not an established duplex-speed figure. Automatic duplex is confirmed for documented plain Letter, Legal, A4 and other named sizes.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet ordinary-paper cassette plus 1-sheet manual feed at the documented stock condition: 251 total across different paths, not a 251-sheet cassette. Envelopes use the instructed single-sheet manual path.

Scanning arrangement

Exact50-sheet ADF supports 216 × 356 mm originals; glass216 × 297 mm. Color scanning is documented. Automatic duplex/single-pass feeder methods are not established from automatic print duplex or Manual Duplex Copy wording.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact DW has standard USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Same-network AirPrint/Mopria are documented; NFC Android pairing and direct printing do not establish a peer-only computer-scanning route.

Supplies and declared yields

US page separates1000-page starter toner/9000-page starter drum from 1500/3000/6000 replacement toner and 12000 replacement drum declarations under ISO 19752. No remaining yield or page cost inferred.

Software and support

USB panel Scan to PC is explicitly documented; network computer delivery here uses separately configured FTP rather than an assumed identical USB shortcut. Exact FDW includes fax. Check current drivers and telephone compatibility; USB-disk scanning is not USB computer scanning.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US body 415 × 365 × 350 mm converted arithmetically to inches; 11.39 kg declared weight excludes cartridge. Check current assembly and operating clearance. US 100–127 V, 50/60 Hz, 9 A edition is separate from 220–240 V. Fax needs a separate compatible telephone arrangement.
