B411dIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible USB computer routine needing automatic two-sided Letter/A4 output without built-in networking or scanning.

The main tradeoff

No Ethernet on the d model. Its special-media path is single-sheet, PostScript belongs to B431, and Legal automatic duplex is not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the 120 V B411d support automatic Letter duplex through its USB computer arrangement?

Yes, using the original cassette and suitable-paper driver routine.

Can I require built-in Ethernet on the plain B411d?

No. Ethernet is assigned to the separately ordered dn model.

Does the single-sheet manual slot establish a 300-sheet included bulk-paper supply?

No. The ordinary cassette is 250 sheets and the single-sheet hand-feed path is not another stacked tray.

A direct-connection monochrome printer with a single-sheet special path

The OKI B411d is an earlier monochrome LED printer for a compatible computer connected by USB or parallel cable. Automatic two-sided printing is included. Its paper arrangement is simpler than the B431's: a 250-sheet ordinary cassette and a single-sheet hand-feed path, rather than a stackable multipurpose feeder.

This review covers the black 120V B411d, part 91659801. The B411dn is a separately ordered network version. Choosing the d model should be a deliberate decision about direct computer connection, rather than assuming that every member of the series includes Ethernet.

Letter and A4 duplex are confirmed; Legal is a different routine

The original instructions identify automatic two-sided Letter and A4 printing through the appropriate cassette path, using suitable ordinary paper and a compatible driver. Select long-edge or short-edge binding according to the document. Automatic duplex saves the reload step when those supported conditions are met.

Legal is supported in the general paper list, but the guide places it in the manual-duplex routine. That procedure requires passing the paper through again. A requirement for unattended two-sided Legal documents therefore excludes this model even though one-sided Legal output is documented.

Count the cassette as bulk input, not the hand-feed slot

The ordinary cassette holds 250 sheets. The separate manual path accepts an individual sheet for the instructed media routine. We use the 250-sheet cassette for the bulk-input comparison rather than presenting a one-sheet hand-feed slot as another stacked tray.

A 530-sheet second cassette is optional and changes both capacity and installed size. It should not be presumed included because a maximum-capacity figure or expanded product picture appears in an offer. Envelopes use the instructed hand-feed procedure and appropriate media settings; they should not be treated as automatic duplex stock.

The B431's interface and language advantages are separate choices

The B411d has USB and parallel interfaces. The original table reserves Ethernet for the dn models. Wi-Fi and native AirPrint or Mopria are not confirmed here, and a computer-managed sharing arrangement would be different from a built-in network interface.

PCL5e/PCLXL and legacy Epson and IBM emulations are documented for the B411. The brochure identifies PostScript 3 as a B431 feature, so that language should not be borrowed merely because both models share a brochure. If PostScript and a multipurpose stack are important, compare the B431d; if built-in wired sharing also matters, the B431dn changes the interface combination.

Speed and consumables have model-specific limits

The B411's original guide declares 35 pages per minute on Letter and 33 on A4 for one-sided printing. Those are manufacturer rates, not our measured results, duplex speeds or full application-job timings. The B431's higher figures describe a different engine configuration.

The exact B411 guide lists a 50,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle, while the series brochure makes a broader 80,000-page statement. We do not resolve that disagreement by choosing the larger number, and neither value establishes a recommended sustained monthly workload. A regular high-volume requirement needs a separately documented recommendation.

Best for an established computer routine that fits its limits

The B411 has separate toner and image-drum components. Its brochure lists a 2,000-page starter declaration and 4,000-page replacement toner under ISO/IEC 19752. The 10,000-page high-capacity toner option in the same document is identified for the B431, not this model.

The body measures 15.2×14.3×9.6 inches and weighs approximately 26lb without the optional second tray. Allow space for paper, rear output, cables and maintenance. Confirm the actual 120V label, current driver compatibility and available supplies. A scanner, copier and fax are not part of this dedicated printer, so choose a multifunction model when those document jobs are essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

B411 is declared 35 ppm Letter/33 ppm A4, separately from B43140 Letter and B431dn+47 Letter. These are one-sided rates. The B411 original guide50k monthly maximum differs from the series brochure80k statement, so no single maximum is used.

Paper handling

The ordinary cassette holds 250 sheets. The separate hand-feed path accepts one sheet rather than a 100-sheet B431 multipurpose stack; our ordinary bulk-input comparison uses 250. A530-sheet second cassette is optional. Automatic duplex explicitly names Letter/A4; Legal uses the separate manual-reload procedure.

Scanning arrangement

Dedicated monochrome LED printer without scanning, copying, fax or document-feeder hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact B411d includes USB and parallel. Built-in Ethernet belongs to B411dn/B431dn, and native AirPrint/Mopria or Wi-Fi are not confirmed. There is no scanner hardware.

Supplies and declared yields

B411 uses separate toner and image drum, with a 2000-page starter declaration and 4000-page ISO/IEC 19752 replacement toner. The 10000-page high-capacity cartridge in the same brochure is identified for B431 only; do not assign it to B411.

Software and support

B411 lists PCL5e/PCLXL, EpsonFX and IBM ProPrinter emulations. The brochure reserves PostScript 3 and its 136 fonts for B431, not B411. Current computer and driver compatibility must be checked separately from old OS lists.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact black120 V B411d is part 91659801, separate from 220 V tan 62435302 and networked B411dn 91659803. Body 15.2 × 14.3 × 9.6 in, approximately 26 lb without optional tray. Allow hand-feed, rear output, cable and service access.
