Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the USB arrangement copy and scan individual Letter originals in color while printing monochrome?
Yes. The documented color flatbed scanning and standalone copy routine are separate from monochrome output.
Explore this need in the finder →Can this flatbed-only model process an automatic stack of originals?
No. A document-feeder requirement is not satisfied by the glass or by the printer paper-input tray.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the published maximum confirm a sustained 3000-page monthly workload?
No. The exact source recommends 2000 monthly; 20000 maximum is a separate figure.
Explore this need in the finder →Choose the flatbed model when scans are individual originals
The Pantum M6500NW combines black-and-white printing, standalone copying and color flatbed scanning in a relatively low desktop body. It is aimed at an individual-original workflow: place a page, card or book opening on the glass, make the required scan or copy, and move on.
The exact NW reference includes Ethernet and Wi-Fi alongside USB. It does not include the automatic document feeder found on the M6552NW or the fax function of the M6602NW. For someone scanning only occasional pages, avoiding those extra components can make the configuration simpler; for repeated stacks, the missing feeder changes the job substantially.
Printing a long sheet does not enlarge the glass
The product table lists Letter, Legal and A4 among printing sizes, while the scanner maximum is 216×297mm. That establishes a Letter/A4 glass routine rather than a full Legal original path. A long sheet that fits the printer paper feed cannot be assumed to fit on the scanner.
This is particularly relevant for bound material and originals that cannot be fed through another device. The flatbed can be useful for individual originals, but the user places each one manually. There is no supported automatic stack-scanning or two-sided feeder routine on this exact flatbed-only configuration.
Manual duplex and card copying are separate functions
The maker describes print duplex as manual. The compatible print procedure needs a reload step before the reverse sides are printed. A questionnaire requirement for automatic two-sided printing therefore excludes the M6500NW.
ID-card copying can arrange both card faces on an output page, but that is not automatic duplex printing. The manufacturer declares 23 pages per minute for one-sided Letter and 22 for A4; those figures are not measured complete application jobs, and they do not describe the manual intervention needed for a two-sided set.
Choose the computer-scanning routine as well as the network
The original guide explicitly describes the panel Scan to PC procedure through a USB cable. It separately documents network scan-to-FTP with the destination service configured on a computer/server. Our Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi scanning plans retain that actual setup requirement.
This means the presence of Wi-Fi does not promise the same one-button computer behavior as the documented USB route. Check the current OS, available scanning driver and destination arrangement before purchase. Direct wireless printing and the Pantum mobile app are further distinct capabilities; neither is used here to invent an unconfirmed native AirPrint, Mopria or peer-only scan routine.
Compare the recommendation with the paper you actually load
The exact reference gives a 2,000-page recommended monthly volume and a separate 20,000-page maximum. The smaller recommendation is the appropriate published basis for a sustained monthly workload question. Maximum duty is not a replacement recommendation or a measured longevity guarantee.
The paper input holds 150 sheets and the output holds 100 under the stated conditions. A buyer making larger batches should consider loading and collection as well as the engine rate. The body reference is 16.4×12.0×9.6 inches and 16.5lb with cartridges; leave additional room for the lid, paper access and cables rather than using those dimensions as complete clearance.
The most useful alternatives change one of these limits
If automatic two-sided output is the priority, compare the M6702DW: it has automatic print duplex but still uses a flatbed-only scanner. If Legal feeder originals and telephone fax matter, the M6602NW adds those functions while retaining manual print duplex.
Check the actual regional electrical version and cartridge code in any offer. The exact US page lists country-dependent consumables and a PB-211 declaration; that does not establish a current price, included starter yield or remaining toner. The useful choice is the model whose actual paper, scan and connection routine fits the job, rather than treating every NW model as interchangeable.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Maker-declared 23 ppm Letter/22 ppm A4; manual print duplex is a separate reload routine. The scan-rate headline is not proof of a two-sided scanner.
Paper handling
150-sheet input and 100-sheet output. No document-feeder capacity is added to these paper figures. Letter, Legal and A4 printing are named independently from glass-size limits.
Scanning arrangement
Color216 × 297 mm flatbed for Letter/A4 originals. No document feeder; Legal printing does not establish a full Legal glass. USB panel scans and configured network FTP are distinct supported routines.
Computer and mobile connections
USB computer, Ethernet and Wi-Fi network are standard on exact NW. The page also describes peer wireless printing; peer-only computer scanning and native AirPrint/Mopria are not inferred from Pantum-app support.
Supplies and declared yields
Exact US page identifies consumables as country-dependent P*-210 and shows PB-211 at 1600 declared pages. Verify the exact unit and cartridge; no starter assumption, current price or remaining-yield claim.
Software and support
Compatible USB panel Scan to PC is expressly documented. Ethernet/Wi-Fi network plans use a configured computer FTP service rather than borrowing a USB-only panel shortcut. Check exact current OS and scanning drivers.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact US page body 16.4 × 12.0 × 9.6 in and 16.5 lb with cartridges. Allow space to open the scanner lid and load paper. US 100–127 V, 50/60 Hz, 6 A and 220–240 V editions are separate.2000-page recommendation is distinct from 20000 maximum duty.
